Location: Asad’s residence

Merriment are on in full swing at Asad’s residence. Dilshad sees zoya, looking at the mehendi with teary eyes, while she’s trying hard to prevent her pain being seen, while sitting in front of the cooler, to be able to dry it off sooner. As she fumbles with the water glass, asad comes and helps her.(MITWA MOMENT) She smiles and nods. He feeds her water with his own hands, and also wipes her face with her dupatta. He asks if she wants to eat something. Zoya is surprised at this behaviour, and commenst that its very sweet of him. nazma comes and decides to take off the mehendi to see how much has it coloured. Zoya thinks that if she dries in front of the people, then they would know that her hands are burnt, then they would ask questions. As nazma and others force her to do so, all the while teasing her, she is hesitant. Dilshad finally tells her that she should comply with what the guests demand, and shouldnt make them wait any longer. Tanveer is in introspection.

Scene 1:
Location: Asad’s residence
preparations are on for Mehendi when nazma finds dilshad crying. she says that these are tears of happiness, on the wedding, and that today, asad’s mehendi would be on zoya’s hands. She says that mehendi just isnt on the hand but on the life too, and it creates a bond that is forever. Nazma listens intently. They begin greeting guests. Asad too arrives, but says that he doesnt know eher’s zoya. Nazma tells her that she’s getting ready and would come soon.

Seeing asad tensed, tanveer asks that he looks like he is still in tension on the marriage. Dilshad announces Zoya’s arrival. asad looks upto see her having come down dressed, in the sleeveless suit that he gave her. Asad says that there’s not tension. he looks mesmerised at zoya while tanveer is surprised, that asad took off his hand from hers to proceed towards zoya. Zoya smiles at him, and asad too smiles. nazma asks that she was going to be wearing some other dress. Zoya remembers asad’s statements about her being beautiful, and therefore decided to wear what asad gave her. They compliment as to how beautiful she’s looking. She shows zoya to the guests, who compliment her too. nazma asks to put on the best mehendi on her. Tanveer is irritated at all this conversation. The mehendi wala also says zoya is as is it in love and glowing. when she sees the burn scar, she asks zoya to cover it up. asad asks to let it be, as they have no problem with this scar. Zoya looks up in appraisal. While going, zoya gives a cursory glance to Tanveer.

Asad is tesned, and tanveer gets him juice. She says that zoya didnt do right, as its okay in front of the family, but not in front of the guests. dilshad comes and asks whats the problem. she tells them about the scar, and what would society think. asad says that there’s nothing wrong in zoya wearing it, as he doesnt have a problem with the scar, and neither should anyone else, and as it is the scar shows how strong she is, after losing her mother in childhood, and other tragedies too, but never made it felt to otheres, and still tried to be happy with life, and keep others happy too. Asad says that she of all people should understand this and learn something from zoya. Asad leaves, and tanveer is very irritated.
